Native trees provide lasting benefits to the community. They help improve air quality, reduce stormwater runoff, provide habitat for wildlife, and add beauty and shade to neighborhoods. By planting a tree, residents can help grow La Marque's ecological stability while making a positive investment in future generations.

Why Texas Celebrates Arbor Day in November

While many people are familiar with National Arbor Day in the spring, Texas Arbor Day is officially observed on the first Friday in November. The date was chosen because fall and winter are the best times to plant trees across much of Texas, allowing roots to become established during cooler weather before the arrival of summer heat.

The Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission's tree giveaway takes place the day after Texas Arbor Day, giving residents an opportunity to celebrate by planting a native tree and investing in the future of their community.
