Greene County Invites Residents to Share Their Input at Flood Preparedness Open House in November

STANARDSVILLE, VA — Greene County invites residents to a Community Open House on Monday, November 9, 2026, to discuss the Greene County Resilience Plan for Flood Preparedness. The event will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the County Administration Building in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, located at 40 Celt Road in Stanardsville.

Flooding is something our community knows all too well. From roads that become difficult to travel to areas that experience repeated flooding, these events can affect our daily lives and create challenges for daily travel. Greene County is working on a plan to identify projects that could help reduce flooding impacts and explore opportunities to fund those improvements.

We want to hear from you! Residents know their neighborhoods and communities best, and your experiences can help us better understand where improvements are needed. You don't need to be a flooding expert to participate. Whether you've dealt with flooding at your home, encountered road closures, or simply want to help Greene County prepare for the future, your input matters!

We're making this a family-friendly event, with light refreshments and kid-friendly activities available. Stop by when you can, stay as long as you'd like, and leave when you need to. We hope you'll take a little time to join the conversation and help us plan for a more resilient Greene County.
