Horseshoe Bay: Burnet County BOPATE Event April 18
The Burnet County BOPATE (Batteries, Oil, Paint, Antifreeze, Tires, Electronics) waste collection event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The collection will be held at the Burnet County Reuse and Recycle Center, located at 2411 FM 963 (2 miles east of Highway 281) in Burnet.

Accepted Items (Residential Only):
Items NOT Accepted:
The event is designed for residential waste only (no industrial or commercial/business waste will be accepted). A separate full chemical disposal event is planned in Burnet for October 2026.

Accepted Items (Residential Only):
- Tires: Automobile tires (24” or less) without rims (first 10 free, $3 per tire after).
- Paint: Latex only (no oil-based paint).
- Fluids: Used motor oil, oil filters, and antifreeze.
- Batteries: Lead-acid and rechargeable.
- Electronics: Small electronics and televisions (no console TVs).
- Metal: Scrap metal (no appliances or lawnmowers).
Items NOT Accepted:
- Tires with rims, appliances, containers larger than five gallons, console televisions or furniture, chemicals/hazardous waste, or medical/pharmaceutical items.
