Duck Lake and Canal System – Aquatic Weed Management Treatment Update

Aquatic weed management efforts in Duck Lake and the Canal System are currently underway and will continue through October 30, 2026. Treatments will occur in 3–5 day treatment blocks throughout the season, as conditions allow. Treatments will not take place on weekends or holidays.

Treatment includes the use of aquatic herbicides to help control excessive weed growth and maintain the health of the waterways.

Please note: Not all areas will be treated during each treatment block.

Glyphosate Will Not Be Used
While Glyphosate is approved for use in State Waters by the Washington Department of Ecology, the City of Ocean Shores and the applicator, AquaTechnex, will not be applying this product in the 2026 treatment program.
