On 8/5/2026, officers were sent to the intersection of N. 10th Street and North Ave for a bicycle vs. vehicle crash.  Officers arrived and found that a 14-year-old female from Sheboygan was operating an illegal electric bicycle north on N. 10th St. when she failed to stop for the stop sign at North Ave.  She was struck by a west bound vehicle on North Ave. that had the right-of-way.  The 14-year-old female and her 13-year-old passenger were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.  The 14-year-old was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a driver license and failing to stop at a stop sign.

The Sheboygan Police Department would like to remind parents and the public that not all electric bicycles are legal and that proper training and education should be considered before allowing children to operate e-bike and e-motos (illegal electric bicycles and motorcycles).
