Valve testing scheduled in Pittsboro on Wednesday morning

Valve testing could cause discolored water and/or low pressure briefly Wednesday morning.

TriRiver Water crews need to test some valves at the Pittsboro water filtration facility before they replace a backflow device within the facility.

While testing these valves, the water plant will be taken offline for 30 minutes to an hour. Crews do not expect this to disrupt water service for customers in the Pittsboro system. However, some customers may briefly notice discolored water or lower-than-normal water pressure Wednesday morning. If any impacts occur, they are most likely to be noticed in the areas of Bynum Road or Mosaic Boulevard.

Customers who do experience any issues like this Wednesday morning should call 919-775-8215 immediately. TriRiver Water has crews on standby to respond should any issues arise.

The valve testing is scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. It is expected to last 30-60 minutes.
