Lake County - Public Works Department

Message from Lake County - Department of Public Works

We had a large main break in Knollwood earlier tonight. This was caused by the displacement of a fire hydrant from the water main on Bradley Road. Because of the size of the break, customers in portions of the following service areas may have experienced service interruption/reduction in water pressure (Knollwood, Terre Fair, and Countryside Manor). Water service and pressure was restored to most of the affected areas. Our maintenance team has started the repair. As a result of the break, a Precautionary Boil Order will be in place until further notice.

Customers in the area above should boil their water at least FIVE minutes before using.

Customers in the affected areas are advised to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. The Precautionary BOIL ORDER will remain in effect until the situation is completely resolved and laboratory sampling confirms that water quality has been fully restored. This may be Wednesday morning or earlier depending on the progress made by the team. You will receive notification at that time.

Please call our Office at 847-377-7500, if you have any questions or need further information.
