Road Closure Alert: Temporary road closure in place along Michigan Avenue in downtown Battle Creek July 10-11
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A temporary road closure will be in place along a section of Michigan Avenue in downtown Battle Creek, during contractor work, Thursday, July 10, and Friday, July 11.
The temporary road closure is needed to allow for a crane to place new rooftop units onto the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, located at 1 E. Michigan Ave.
The section of Michigan Avenue impacted by this temporary road closure is:
- East Michigan Avenue, from Capital Avenue SW to Division Street North
Neighbors are encouraged to detour around this area during work hours, as well as to be aware of crews and equipment in this area.
Battle Creek Transit’s 3E - Main/Post bus will temporarily detour when traveling inbound, during this temporary road closure along Michigan Avenue. The 3E bus will turn left on Hamblin Avenue, traveling inbound to the Transfer Center. As a result of this detour, the following bus stops will NOT be serviced:
- Michigan Avenue at Division Street (Battle Creek City Hall)
- Michigan Avenue near the W.K. Kellogg Foundation
- Capital Avenue NE near Jackson Street
BCT riders are encouraged to use the bus stops located on Main Street at Pittee Street or Hamblin Avenue near Monroe Street (behind Café Rica). Neighbors who need help planning their trip can call BCT at, 269-966-3474, and our Mobility Manager or dispatch team will be happy to help, as well.
