Knife assault on Parkway Drive leads to arrest

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Shortly after midnight on Saturday, June 21, Battle Creek police officers responded to a reported assault involving a knife in the 300 block of Parkway Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old Battle Creek woman with injuries. The victim directed officers toward a group of individuals attempting to enter a vehicle approximately one block from the scene. Officers stopped the group before they left the area.

Among them, they identified a 21-year-old woman as the suspect who had cut the victim with a knife. Officers arrested her at the scene.

The victim was treated and released on scene by the Battle Creek Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance. Officers transported the suspect to the Calhoun County Jail, where she was lodged.
