BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City of Battle Creek Department of Public Works field services crews will complete asphalt repairs, following a recent utility cut, resulting in a temporary road closure along Post Avenue on Monday, Sept. 28.

The temporary road closure will be in place at:

• The intersection of Post Avenue and Vale Street

This temporary road closure will impact thru and local traffic. Neighbors traveling near this area are reminded to be aware of crews and equipment.

The following recommended detour route will be in place during this repair work:

• Eastbound Post Avenue: Turn left on Caine Street, turn right on Cliff Street, turn right on James Street, and then turn left to resume eastbound on Post Avenue.
• Westbound Post Avenue: Turn right on James Street, turn left on Cliff Street, turn left on Caine Street, and then turn right to resume westbound on Post Avenue.
• Northbound Vale Street: From East Columbia Avenue, turn onto James Street, turn left on Cliff Street, and then turn right to resume northbound on Vale Street.
• Southbound Vale Street: Turn left on Cliff Street, turn right on James Street, turn right on East Columbia Avenue, and then turn right on Vale Street to access the southern part of Vale.

Crews plan to begin this asphalt repair work by 6:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, and expect to be completed by 6 p.m., with the temporary road closure ending then, too.
