BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City crews will make asphalt repairs to a recent utility cut, resulting in a temporary lane shift, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, and repairs to a water main, resulting in a temporary road closure and water shut offs, on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

First, city field services crews will complete asphalt repairs, following a recent utility cut, resulting in the following temporary lane shift along Michigan Avenue, between Gould Street and United Way:

• Westbound traffic:
  • The rightmost westbound lane of Michigan Avenue will be closed during work
  • Westbound Michigan Avenue traffic will be shifted to the middle westbound lane
• Eastbound traffic:
  • There are no expected impacts to eastbound Michigan Avenue traffic during work

There are no expected complete road closures and no expected impacts to Ride Calhoun routes and stops during this work. Neighbors are reminded to be aware of crews and equipment when traveling in this area.

Crews plan to begin this asphalt repair work by 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, and expect to be completed by 3 p.m., with the temporary lane shift ending then, too.

Second, city water crews will complete repairs to a water main, resulting in the following temporary road closure:

• The intersection of Golden Avenue and North Brewer Drive will be closed

Neighbors traveling in this area are reminded to be aware of crews and equipment. There are no expected impacts to Ride Calhoun routes and stops during this work.

There will also be temporary water shut offs on the following roadways during work:

• North Brewer Drive, between Golden Avenue and Weeks Avenue
• Golden Avenue, between Capital Avenue SW and Winston Drive

Crews plan to begin this water main repair work by 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, and expect to be completed by 3:30 p.m., with the temporary road closure and water shut offs ending then, too.
