BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City water crews will work to install a new water valve along Division Street, resulting in a temporary lane shift and water shut off, and possible boil water advisory, starting today, Thursday, June 4.

This valve installation work will require a temporary lane shift along Division Street, to allow for a continued flow of northbound and southbound traffic:

While there is not an expected complete road closure during this work, neighbors are reminded to be aware of crews and equipment when traveling in the work area.

A temporary water shut off and possible boil water advisory will be in place, due to crews having to completely turn off access to the water system during the installation work, for only the BCPD station. The water shut off is planned to begin by 11:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4.

Crews plan to begin the valve installation work by noon Thursday, June 4, and expect to be completed by 5 p.m. Friday, June 5, following the repaving of the roadway by city field services crews.

The temporary lane shift and water shut off are expected to also be lifted by 5 p.m. Friday, June 5.

If a boil water advisory is issued, a separate city alert will be sent, as well as an updated alert once the boil water advisory is lifted.
