BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City water crews will work to repair two water main breaks along Hamblin Avenue, resulting in a temporary road closure and water shut off, today, Wednesday, June 3.

The two water main breaks are located along Hamblin Avenue, between Angell Street and Butler Street, and between Butler Street and 12th Street North. As a result, the following temporary road closure will be in place for thru traffic:

Neighbors will still be able to get to and from their homes in this area; however, those traveling in this work area are reminded to be aware of both crews and equipment, as well as to leave extra time when traveling. There are also no expected impacts to Ride Calhoun routes and stops during this work.

A temporary water shut off will also be in place along:

  • Hamblin Avenue, between Angell Street and 12th Street North

Crews began this water main break repair work around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, and expect to be completed by 4 p.m., with the temporary road closure and water shut off ending then, too.
