City announces interim community services director

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The City of Battle Creek has temporarily placed Code Compliance Manager Jason Francisco in the role of interim community services director, effective Friday, May 1.

The change follows Marcie Gillette’s promotion to assistant city manager and helps ensure continuity of operations within the Community Services Department.

During this interim period, Francisco will oversee day‑to‑day departmental operations while the city moves forward with the recruitment process for a permanent community services director.

Once posted, information about the position and other employment opportunities will be available on the city’s jobs website.
