BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City water crews will complete installation of a new water service along Oak Street, resulting in a temporary road closure, tomorrow, Wednesday, April 29.

This installation will provide water service for the future site of the new Battle Creek Fire Department Station No. 3. This new fire station will serve the Post‑Franklin neighborhood, replacing the existing fire station currently located across from the Post factory. Construction on the new fire station, to be located between Warren Street and Dickman Road, began earlier this month and will take about a year to complete.

The temporary road closure will impact:

  • Oak Street, from Warren Street to East Dickman Road

There are no expected water shut offs during this water service installation work.

Crews plan to begin this installation work by 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, and expect to be completed by 5 p.m., with the temporary road closure ending then, too.
