BCPD conducting explosives training today – expect loud booms near River Road

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Battle Creek Police Department will conduct explosives response training this afternoon, Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the W. River Road training range, near the city’s wastewater treatment plant. 

The training focuses on how officers respond to bomb threats and suspicious packages. 

Around 4 p.m., residents may hear three to four loud booms in the area. These sounds are part of controlled training and are not a cause for concern. 

The City of Battle Creek appreciates the community’s understanding as officers prepare for critical public safety scenarios. Please share this information with neighbors to help spread awareness and prevent unnecessary alarm.
