Message from The City of Panama City: Political Sign Removal

4/25/2025 - 2:16 PM UTC
NOTICE REGARDING POLITICAL SIGN REMOVAL

In accordance with Chapter 112 of the City’s Unified Land Development Code (ULDC), residents and businesses are reminded that all political signs related to the recent City election must be removed no later than May 2, 2025. Per Section 112- 6. C., political signs, including any signage in support of or opposition to a particular ballot measure or referendum, must be removed within ten (10) days after the election date or any run-off election date. The property owner is responsible for ensuring compliance with the City’s Code.

As a run-off election will take place in May, only candidates participating in that run-off may continue to display political signs until that election concludes. After the run-off election, those candidates will also have ten (10) days to remove their signs.

Political signs must comply with the following standards:
• Placement: Signs must be located only on private property, with the property owner's permission. Multiple signs for the same candidate may not be placed within ten feet of one another.
• Size: Signs may not exceed eight square feet per face and five feet in height.
• Timeline: Signs may only be displayed within 120 days before the election and must be removed within ten days following the election or run-off.

We appreciate the community’s cooperation in maintaining a clean and orderly environment. For more details, please refer to Chapter 112 of the ULDC – https://library.municode.com/fl/panama_city
