Storm Debris and Trash Collection Schedule Update

Storm Debris and Trash Collection Schedule Update
Following the recent storm, City crews are working hard to clear debris and restore normal trash collection services throughout the community.

Trash Collection Schedule
Regular trash collection will resume Monday morning, picking up where operations stopped on Friday’s routes. Crews will continue following established routes in their normal sequence.

Due to the significant increase in debris, residents should expect delays in regular trash collection over the next couple of weeks as crews work to recover from the storm. Under normal conditions, trash crews typically encounter debris piles at every third or fourth home. Following this storm, nearly every household in the city has debris requiring collection. The increased volume will take additional time to manage, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as crews work through the backlog.

How to Prepare Your Debris for Pickup
To help crews collect debris as efficiently and safely as possible, please follow these guidelines:
  • Bag leaves and yard clippings. Place loose leaves, grass clippings, and other small yard debris in sturdy bags before setting them out for collection.
  • Bag small debris. Gather small branches, twigs, and other loose storm debris into bags or suitable containers whenever possible. Do not leave loose debris scattered along the roadside.
  • Place larger branches and limbs neatly at the roadside. Keep them in manageable piles so crews can access them safely.
  • Keep debris away from storm drains. Do not place leaves, branches, yard clippings, or other debris on or near storm drains, drainage inlets, or drainage ditches. Keeping these areas clear helps prevent blockages and reduces the risk of localized flooding.
  • Keep roads and sidewalks clear. Do not block roadways, sidewalks, fire hydrants, mailboxes, or other public access points.
  • Be patient and leave your materials accessible for collection. Crews will continue working through established routes in sequence. Your collection may take longer than usual, even if neighboring homes have already been serviced.
We understand that storm cleanup can be frustrating, and we appreciate residents’ cooperation as City crews work to restore normal operations. Properly bagging leaves, yard clippings, and small debris, keeping larger debris neatly organized, and ensuring storm drains remain clear will help crews work more efficiently and protect our community from additional drainage issues.

Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep our community safe and clean as we recover from the storm.
