Nova River District Apartments to Open This Summer

School Zone Safety Program
 
The City of Rome is partnering with RedSpeed to enhance school zone safety in the West Central Elementary School area. Warnings will be issued to violators for a 30-day warning period that started on Monday, April 14, 2025. Citations will be issued following the warning period. We are asking the community to please slow down and help keep our students safe.


Hammond Battery Energy Storage System

City and county leaders attended a ground breaking ceremony on Friday for the Hammond Battery Energy Storage System, which stores electricity used for peaking power, a 575 megawatt standalone battery energy storage system.The battery facility is located at the former Plant Hammond Coal Plant.

Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful (KRFB) Offers Yard Sign Recycling at Rome Floyd Chamber 

Thank you to KRFB & Rome Floyd Chamber for teaming up to give us an easy way to toss election signs and yard signs from our public rights-of-way.
