March 31, 2026 - Town Supervisor Update

Colonie Town Supervisor Peter G. Crummey announced the launch of a new transportation program for Colonie Seniors.  This initiative provides an innovative opportunity for Colonie Seniors to receive transportation within the Town for purposes not traditionally provided by the Albany County Department for Aging.

Colonie Town Supervisor Peter G. Crummey said, “Recognizing that many Seniors in our Town face barriers to accessing social activities, recreational opportunities and places of worship, I set out to identify a transportation solution that would help our Seniors stay engaged, reduce social isolation and provide support to their family caregivers,”

Director of the Town of Colonie Department of Senior Resources Angelina Searles stated, “We are excited to share the new pilot ridesharing collaboration between the Town of Colonie Department of Senior Resources and GoGo Technologies, Inc. (“GoGo”).  The service is provided to make such transportation simple, accessible, and reliable. The pilot program will be available to registered Town residents age 60 years and older seeking transportation to destinations located within the Town of Colonie. The on-demand rides are at no cost to the resident and there is no financial test in place to qualify for the rides.”

The pilot program hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday between 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. To learn more details about the program in advance of the launch date, residents may contact Carrie Blanchard at the Town of Colonie Senior Resources Department at 518-459-3977.
