IVHS Conducting Canvassing for Dog Licenses Beginning May 20

The Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA (IVHS), which the City of Chino Hills contracts with to provide animal control, will be conducting neighborhood canvassing for dog licenses in the City of Chino Hills beginning Tuesday, May 20. IVHS employees will be driving their personal vehicles and will carry a badge. Their uniform consists of black pants, a black polo shirt with the IVHS logo, and a black hat with the IVHS logo.

In the state of California, every dog over the age of four months must be vaccinated against rabies and have a current license. Chino Hills residents are encouraged to license their dogs ahead of time and maintain current dog licenses. The annual cost for a dog license in Chino Hills is $30 if the dog is spayed or neutered, and $100 if not. Senior citizens, age 65 or older with proof of age, and active Military members and Veterans are eligible for a reduced license fee of $10 for spayed or neutered dogs. Owners who have not renewed their dog’s license or who have unlicensed dogs are subject to a penalty equivalent to the license fee.

Residents can pay or renew by mail, by phone by calling (909) 623-9777, or online at ivhsspca.org by selecting “licensing” on the homepage.
