Dzantik’i Heeni Fields, Play Area to Close May 26 for Playground Construction

The fields and covered play areas at Dzantik’i Heeni School will be closed from May 26 until August 19 for construction of a new playground. Construction will include excavation and other work with heavy equipment and large trucks moving through the area. The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) asks residents to follow posted signage and avoid the area during construction for their safety and the safety of project workers.
Once complete, the playground will include separate composite play structures for both 2–5-year-olds and 5–12-year-olds. The playground project will also include pre-k swings, a communication board and installation of perimeter fencing around the entire field area.
The Dzantik’ Heeni School complex includes the Juneau Charter School (K-8), Montessori Borealis Public School (K-8) and Yaaḵoosgé Daakahídi High School.
