WARNING: Avoid Mendenhall River
Suicide Basin is currently experiencing a glacial outburst and releasing water into Mendenhall Lake and River. All members of the public should avoid the Mendenhall River at this time.
When you go near the river, you’re not only putting yourself in danger—you’re endangering the first responders who come to your rescue. Furthermore, drive-by sightseeing interferes with evacuating vehicles and causes painful stress and strain to your neighbors facing the threat of damage to home and property.
