Downtown sewer repair work

The aging condition of a sewer main in downtown Bangor will require a second day of repair work.

Traffic through a portion of downtown will again be one-way on Thursday, March 13, as C&C Lynch works to repair the broken sewer main in the area of 68 Main St.

There will be a lane closure and parking restrictions on Main Street. No impacts to sewer users are expected to occur during the work.

The work is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. on March 13. Main Street will be closed to northbound traffic at the intersection of Main and Water streets. Northbound motorists trying to reach other points downtown will need to make a right onto Cedar Street, travel along to Washington Street and then make a left turn onto Exchange Street. Traffic will continue on Exchange to the intersection of Exchange, Harlow and State streets.

Main Street southbound traffic from Central Street and Hammond Street will not be detoured. Parking will be prohibited on both sides of Main Street from Water Street to Broad Street.
