Citywide Parking Ban tonight
There will be a Citywide Parking Ban in effect starting at 11 p.m. tonight, Feb. 11, through 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, to allow for snow removal along City streets and parking areas.
During a Citywide Parking Ban, vehicles may not be parked on City streets between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Vehicles left on the street during a parking ban may be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Vehicles are also prohibited from parking in most City parking lots Downtown during a parking ban.
There are three City parking lots in the Downtown district where vehicles may be parked from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.:
• Lower level of the Columbia Street parking deck
• Lower level of Pickering Square Parking Garage - on the Kenduskeag Plaza side
• The rear section of the Upper Abbot Square parking lot on Harlow Street (this lot is only available from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. due to a metered parking schedule)
There are six additional parking lots outside the Downtown district that may be utilized from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. for off-street parking during a parking ban:
• Cameron Stadium (Mt. Hope parking lot)
• Cross Insurance Center (section of Lot C only)
• Essex St. Dog Park
• Gateway Park
• Hayford Park
• Union Street Recreation Center
