Downtown Parking Ban
There will a Downtown Parking Ban in effect tonight -- from 11 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3. The ban is needed to continue with snow-removal efforts Downtown.
During a Downtown Parking Ban, vehicles may not be parked on City streets in the Downtown Parking Management District. Vehicles left on the street during a parking ban may be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Vehicles are also prohibited from parking in most City parking lots Downtown during a parking ban.
There are three City parking lots in the Downtown district where vehicles may be parked from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.:
Lower level of the Columbia Street Parking Deck
Lower level of Pickering Square Parking Garage -- on the Kenduskeag Plaza side
The rear section of the Upper Abbot Square Parking lot on Harlow Street (this lot is only available from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., due to a metered parking schedule)
