Water Main Break 4/20/2026 - UPDATE

There is a boil water advisory due to the water main break on 4/20/2026. Visit the county website at https://greenecountyva.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1686/Boil-Water-Advisory-April-20-2026-PDF for instructions regarding how to boil water. Properties affected include Fairlane Drive off Route 33, Briar Patch off Route 33, Industrial Drive off Route 33 in Ruckersville and everything west of that down U.S. Route 33 including the Town of Stanardsville. This only applies if you are on the County water system and not well or other water system in Greene County. Tests will be done on the water system and once completed, you will be notified through the same way that the boil water advisory is lifted.

All properties west of the Industrial Park should boil water until it is lifted. The public will be notified through alerts when the boil water advisory is lifted.

A private contractor doing work for a private project hit a water connection near the Industrial Park in Ruckersville, causing a shut down and loss of pressure for all water users west of the Industrial Park to include all of Stanardsville. There is no estimate at this time regarding a fix and water pressure rebuild, but crews from the water department are on site and working on it now.
