The Brewer Chronicle is a monthly electronic newsletter published by the City of Brewer available on the City's website. 2025 Annual Spring Cleanup
Each spring, the City offers free curbside collection of brush, bagged leaves, non-freon containing white goods, and metals to Brewer residents. This year the spring cleanup will take place in early May, which will also include extended transfer station hours (normal disposal fees will apply). Volunteers Needed! Join the Ken Locke Stream Cleanup!
The City of Brewer is seeking volunteers for the 21st Annual Ken Locke Stream Cleanup on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.This event is coordinated by Members of the Brewer Stream Clean-Up Committee. All of the funds necessary to perform the event will be raised locally through Donations. The Ken Locke Stream Clean-Up raises awareness about storm water pollution and gives residents a chance to directly contribute to cleaner local waterways. There will be a volunteer recognition picnic at 11:00 a.m at the Joe Ferris Community Center, sponsored by Jeff’s Catering.

Volunteers should check in at the Joe Ferris Community Center between 7:00–8:00 AM.
Brewer Police and Fire to go Head-to-Head to Support Brewer Little League
Twelve-year-old Dorian “D-Max” Pillsbury, a passionate baseball player and young entrepreneur, is hosting the first-ever Badge vs. Badge Charity Softball Game in Brewer—a fun-filled showdown between Brewer’s police and firefighters to raise funds for Brewer Little League. The free event takes place Sunday, May 4 at Brewer Little League Majors Field, with pregame festivities at 10am and the first pitch at 11am. Highlights include food, raffles, giveaways, and limited-edition D-Max Merch sweatshirts, with proceeds supporting much-needed field upgrades. More information about the event is available here.
City Council Meeting
The regularly scheduled City Council meeting will be held Tuesday, May 13 at 6pm in the City Council Chambers located at 80 North Main Street. The agenda for this meeting will be available here.
Special Evening Edition: Coffee with the City Manager and Mayor
This month, “Coffee with the City Manager and Mayor” will be held in the evening. Join Mayor Michele LaBree Daniels and City Manager Eric Glidden on Wednesday, May 14 at 6:00 PM at the Brewer Public Library. This monthly event provides residents with a relaxed and informal opportunity to connect directly with Brewer’s leadership, share thoughts on important community issues, and ask questions. We are also excited to welcome Library Director Darren French, who will join us for this month’s conversation. We hope you’ll stop by and take advantage of this special evening gathering — we look forward to seeing you at the Library!
