Traffic Alert: MaineDOT Work on Joshua Chamberlain Bridge

The Joshua Chamberlain Bridge is restricted to one travel lane for vehicles traveling from Brewer into Bangor. Motorists traveling from Bangor to Brewer are detoured to the Penobscot Bridge. This traffic pattern is expected to remain in place through the summer and into the fall.  The project includes resurfacing the bridge deck, replacing bridge joints, and completing additional structural repairs as part of ongoing maintenance to preserve the bridge.  Motorists are encouraged to plan for additional travel time and use caution in the construction area.

Questions regarding the project should be directed to MaineDOT’s Bangor office at 207-941-4500.
