The City of Brewer would like to inform residents, business owners, and visitors of upcoming traffic changes on Wilson Street due to utility work scheduled to begin Monday, May 4, and continue through Thursday, May 7, weather permitting.  During this time, the contractor will be paving cross trenches associated with previous water main installations and service replacements. Minor delays are expected, and motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly.

Traffic Pattern Changes:

• Westbound traffic (toward Bangor): Detoured via Parker Street to North Main Street.
• Eastbound traffic (toward the Ferris Community Center): Will remain open.
• Local access: access to homes and businesses will be maintained.
• Railroad crossing area: Limited to eastbound traffic only. Westbound traffic will not be permitted through the crossing.

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of those who follow posted signage and traffic controls as we complete this necessary work. Your efforts help ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and construction crews, and allow the project to be completed as efficiently as possible.  And as always—please follow the posted signs; taking the detour will only add a minute or two to your trip while helping keep everyone safe.
