Notify Brewer
Mosquito-borne Disease Warning
The City was informed by the Maine CDC that they recently identified a total of two deceased crows infected with West Nile virus (WNV) in Brewer. Maine CDC has advised us that this is NOT an outbreak or cluster. The CDC recommended that we advise residents to take precautions, as WNV is a mosquito-borne illness. Birds infected with a mosquito-borne illness cannot transfer the virus directly to people.
