The City of Brewer would like to inform residents, business owners, and visitors of upcoming traffic changes due to utility work that is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 8.  The project will be replacing the water main and services from Main Street to Blake Street on Wilson Street.

• Traffic traveling westbound (towards Bangor) will be detoured down Parker Street to North Main Street.
• Traffic traveling eastbound (towards the Ferris Community Center) will remain open.
• When construction activities are between Fling Street and Blake Street, two-way traffic will be maintained, where possible.
• Access to Summer Street will remain open until construction activity reaches that area.
• Local access to businesses and residences in the affected neighborhood will be maintained through side streets.

The roadway will be fully open each weekend, with temporary plating used where needed. The work area within the Wilson Street and Main Street intersection will be paved within one week of installation. In addition, service work on Phase One will begin immediately once the pipe between Main and Fling has passed testing, and this will be followed by the paving of Main Street to Fling Street.  Please use caution while traveling through the construction zone.  We appreciate your patience and cooperation as the contractor completes this important infrastructure improvement.
