The Brewer Chronicle is a monthly electronic newsletter published by the City of Brewer available on the City's website.  Each issue includes a calendar of upcoming meetings, important dates and reminders, and information about topics important to our community.  Below is the link to the September 2025 issue:

City Hall Closed Monday, September 1

City Hall and all administrative offices will be closed Monday, September 1 in observance of Labor Day.  Many services performed in the Tax Office are also available online.

Nomination Petitions Available Tuesday, September 2

Nomination petitions for the November 4, 2025 City of Brewer Municipal Election will be available in the City Clerk’s Office located at 80 North Main Street beginning Tuesday, September 2. The nomination petition filing deadline is Monday, September 22; nomination petitions will not be received after 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22. The following offices will be on the November 4 Municipal Election Ballot:
 
Members of the Brewer City Council: two seats
Member of the Brewer Superintending School Committee: one seat
Trustee of the Brewer High School District: one seat
Members of the Charter Review Commission for the City of Brewer: six seats

City Council Meeting

Tuesday, September 9 at 6pm in the City Council Chambers located at 80 North Main Street.  The agenda will be posted here.

Coffee With the City Manager and Mayor

Wednesday, September 10 at 9am in the City Council Chambers located at 80 North Main Street.  Coffee and donuts will be provided.

First Half of Taxes Due Tuesday, September 9

REMINDER: First half taxes are due September 9, 2025.  Interest will begin accruing, daily, starting on the next business day.
Ways to pay:

• By mail: City of Brewer; 80 North Main Street; Brewer, ME 04412
• By drop-box in front of City Hall entrance facing North Main Street.
• By coming into the office Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm.
• By visiting our website.

Please remember to keep your 2026 tax bill in a safe place! The tax bill you received in July that includes your first half and second half tax bill information is the ONLY copy you will receive via mail. If you have already discarded your current bill and need a duplicate bill, please contact the tax office at (207) 989-7060.

Coming Soon!  Paws on the Penobscot

Join us on Saturday September 20th, 2025 at the Children’s Garden on the Brewer Riverwalk for a day full of activities for you and your four-legged family! The event kicks off at 10am. There will be a fundraiser walk, pup-fashion show, educational seminars, local vendors, raffles and MORE! Mason’s Brewing Company will also be featuring YAPPY HOUR from 3-5pm!! Proceeds from the event (including a portion of Yappy Hour) will go directly to the Old Town Animal Orphanage.
