Starting Monday, September 1st , the City of Brewer will begin lowering manhole covers on Dirigo Drive between Sparks Avenue and Wilson Street.  This work is in preparation for the mill and resurfacing project on Dirigo Drive that will occur later this fall.  This initial work lowering manholes is expected to take approximately four days.
 
How Dirigo Drive will be impacted while the work is being performed:

• Dirigo Drive will be reduced from two lanes to a single lane when entering from Wilson Street.  Entering and leaving the Northern Light Cancer Care Center from Wilson Street will function as normal.
• When heading from Wilson to Sparks, Dirigo will be closed to thru traffic after the entrance to the parking lot for Northern Light Cancer Care center.  
• Between Sparks Avenue and Paul Hatt Drive, Dirigo Drive will be reduced to local traffic only in this section.
• The segment of Dirigo Drive between Northern Light Cancer Care Center parking lot entrance and Paul Hatt Drive will be closed to all traffic during these activities.
