Town of Palm Beach Encourages Continued Hurricane Preparedness
The Town of Palm Beach urges all residents, businesses, and visitors to remain vigilant, stay informed, and ensure that emergency plans are in place and current. The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially began on June 1 and runs through November 30. The most active months typically occur from August through October, but storms can form anytime. It is critical that we all remain prepared throughout the season.
State of Florida Eliminates Sales Tax on Hurricane Supplies
Florida has permanently eliminated sales tax on essential hurricane preparedness items, including batteries, generators, tarps, fuel containers, and other emergency supplies. This change replaces the previous temporary tax holidays, making it easier for residents to stay prepared year-round.
Now Is the Time To:
• Review and update your emergency plans. Include evacuation options, emergency contacts, and plans for pets.
• Check your hurricane supply kits. Ensure you have at least 7 days' worth of water, non-perishable food, medications, batteries, flashlights, and other essentials.
