Demobilization for North Inlet Dredging Project road and water closures
On Land:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is anticipating beginning the demobilization of the Lake Worth Inlet Maintenance Dredging Project on Friday, April 4, 2025. A full lane closure along North Ocean Boulevard at Palmo Way is scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Army Corps’ contractor, Weeks Marine, will begin demobilization by moving materials and equipment from the inlet and construction staging areas to the Palmo Way beach access. A crane will be used to disassemble equipment on the beach. Traffic signage and personnel will be present along North Ocean Boulevard to direct traffic as needed for equipment deliveries. Single lane closures will remain as needed after Monday until all equipment has been removed. We kindly remind everyone to prioritize safety when near or passing by construction areas to support timely and secure project completion.
On Water:
As part of the demobilization process, a temporary inlet closure is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The closure is needed to remove the submerged pipe and other equipment from the mouth of the inlet. Operations are weather-dependent, and in case of inclement weather, a backup date is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
