Potential Traffic Impacts and Town Updates: June 11, 2026
The Town of Palm Beach advises residents and motorists of potential traffic impacts during scheduled work occurring. Please follow signage and directions, proceed cautiously, and allow yourself extra travel time in the areas mentioned below. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation. Access to residents’ homes will remain available at all times. Traffic control personnel and flaggers will be on-site to assist motorists and help maintain safe access.
FAA Flight Restrictions Update:
The Town, City of West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach County filed the Joint Petitioners' Brief on June 9, 2026.
Potential Traffic Impacts: Milling and Paving
Milling and paving operations are scheduled for the roadways listed in the project schedule below; milling and paving cannot happen when it rains. The dates provided are a guide and may change depending on conditions. Temporary traffic disruptions and limited access in certain areas as the work continues. Florida Power and Light’s contractor will also install conduit for street lighting along these streets during this period.

June 15 – June 16: Brazilian Avenue from Ocean Boulevard to Hibiscus Avenue

June 15-June 18: North County Road’s northbound and southbound lanes will be closed one at a time between Wells Road and Miraflores Drive.

June 15-June 29: 100, 200, and 300 blocks of Brazilian, Australian, Chilean, Peruvian, and Hibiscus Avenues, between S Ocean Blvd and Cocoanut Row.

June 17 – June 18: Brazilian Avenue from Hibiscus Avenue to Coconut Row; Australian Avenue from Ocean Boulevard to South County Road

Potential Traffic Impacts: Undergrounding
Undergrounding work occurring throughout several project phases may result in intermittent lane closures, localized detours, and brief delays during the week. Residents and motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow extra travel time when traveling through affected areas. Potential Traffic Impacts: Cocoanut Row Watermain
The installation of a new watermain along Cocoanut Row between Royal Poinciana Way and Pendleton will require a southbound lane closure, with a flagging operation in place to maintain traffic flow throughout the duration of the project.
Potential Traffic Impacts on June 13 and June 20: Sanitary Sewer Force Main Maintenance
Maintenance will be performed on the sanitary sewer force main along South Ocean Boulevard, from the 2100 block north to the 200 block (Royal Palm Way), on Saturday, June 13, 2026, and at 1045 South Ocean Boulevard on Saturday, June 20, 2026. To accommodate this work, maintenance of traffic (MOT) measures will be in place from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. South Ocean Boulevard will be reduced to one lane of travel in the work area, and flagging personnel will be on-site to direct motorists safely through the zone. Each phase of the work is expected to take approximately one hour to complete. Motorists should expect brief delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time when traveling through the area. Potential Traffic Impacts: FDOT projects
S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from S.R. 802/Lake Avenue to Ibis Way
Traffic Impacts: Change in Traffic Pattern for the new Pedestrian Signal at the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course: The new pedestrian signal at the entrance/crosswalk for the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course, just south of Old S. Ocean Boulevard, is currently flashing yellow to notify of the upcoming change in traffic pattern. When the signal is fully activated later this month, the push button will turn the signal from yellow to red to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard. Please drive safely and proceed with caution as this new traffic pattern is implemented in the coming weeks. S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from Emerald Beach Way to S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way
Traffic Impacts: One lane of S.R. A1A/S. County Road may be closed for construction from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday through Summer 2026. Work includes concrete, medians, and mast arm installation. Sidewalk closures and detours are in place; follow signs and use caution. Traffic Advisory: Downtown West Palm Beach Road Closures
Residents traveling between the Town of Palm Beach and downtown West Palm Beach should be aware of temporary road closures in effect from Saturday, June 6 through Wednesday, June 17 (5 O’clock Somewhere Music Festival) closures include:

Drivers heading to or from the Town of Palm Beach may experience increased traffic, slower travel times, and possible delays when on routes connecting to the downtown area and bridge crossings. Upcoming Water System Notice: Annual Chlorine Flush
The City of West Palm Beach will be conducting its annual chlorine flush at the water plant from Monday, July 6, through Monday, July 27, 2026. The city will temporarily switch its water disinfectant from chloramines to free chlorine as part of routine water system maintenance. This notice is being provided as a courtesy to customers who may need to make adjustments to their treatment processes during this period.

Safety Reminders
Vehicles: The Palm Beach Police Department advises residents to lock vehicle doors, not to leave keys inside, and to remove valuables such as cash, wallets, purses, phones, and tablets before leaving their cars to deter theft.
Beware of Impersonators: The Palm Beach Police Department warns residents and visitors about individuals falsely claiming to represent the Town. These impostors may ask for personal or financial information or cash. Town employees always carry official ID and wear uniforms with Palm Beach insignia. Remember:
