Potential Traffic Impacts and Safety Reminders: Week of June 8, 2026
The Town of Palm Beach advises residents and motorists of potential traffic impacts during scheduled work occurring. Please follow signage and directions, proceed cautiously, and allow yourself extra travel time in the areas mentioned below. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation. Access to residents’ homes will be maintained at all times.

Potential Traffic Impacts June 8-12, 2026: Milling and Paving on North Lake Way
To accommodate the milling and paving work, North Lake Way will be closed to traffic between Country Club Road and Via Marila. Northbound traffic will be detoured to North Ocean Boulevard at Country Club Road, and southbound traffic will be detoured to North Ocean Boulevard at Via Marila. Additionally, Florida Power and Light’s contractor will be installing conduit for street lighting along these streets during this time. Residents along North Lake Way will continue to have full access to their homes throughout the project. Traffic control personnel and flaggers will be on-site to assist motorists and help maintain safe access. Undergrounding work occurring throughout several project phases may result in intermittent lane closures, localized detours, and brief delays during the week of June 1, 2026. Residents and motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow extra travel time when traveling through affected areas.Phase 7 North
- Florida Power & Light (FPL) work is ongoing near 911 North Ocean Boulevard, between Bahama and Jamaica. Crews are awaiting FPL switching orders and finalization of easements.
- The Paving Lady milling and resurfacing work is scheduled along North Ocean Boulevard, from Bahama Lane to Via Marila, June 8–12. Florida Power & Light (FPL) contractor conduit installation for future street lighting will occur concurrently. Residents should expect lane closures, flagging operations, and temporary traffic detours as work progresses.
Phase 6 South
- Contractors are completing the remaining miscellaneous punch‑list items with no traffic impacts.
- Overhead line removal is underway on Seabreeze Avenue from the west end to the east, with periodic rolling detours and local traffic only.
Phase 7 South
- HDD service drilling is in progress on Atlantic Avenue (Bradley Place to North County Road) and on North Ocean Boulevard (Wells Road to Dunbar Road). These areas are closed to through traffic, with local traffic access maintained.
- Equipment and conduit installation are ongoing on Dunbar Road and Atlantic Avenue between Bradley Place and North County Road. These streets remain closed to through traffic, with access for local residents.
- Wire pulling is occurring at various locations with no traffic impacts.
- R&D Paving and Johnson Davis roadway improvement work is scheduled on N County Road between Miraflores Drive and Wells Road beginning June 8. The project is expected to continue through the summer. Residents should expect lane closures, flagging operations, and temporary traffic detours as work progresses. Access to homes will be maintained at all times.
Phase 8
- HDD services and utility installation continue on Seminole Avenue, Root Trail, North County Road, Sunset Avenue, Bradley Place, and Everglade Avenue.
- These areas will experience lane closures with local traffic only, and full traffic maintenance will be in place.
Potential Traffic Impacts June 8-12, 2026: Cocoanut Row Watermain
The installation of a new watermain along Cocoanut Row between Royal Poinciana Way and Pendleton will require a southbound lane closure, with a flagging operation in place to maintain traffic flow throughout the duration of the project.Potential Traffic Impacts on June 13 and June 20: Sanitary Sewer Force Main Maintenance
Maintenance will be performed on the sanitary sewer force main along South Ocean Boulevard, from the 2100 block north to the 200 block (Royal Palm Way), on Saturday, June 13, 2026 and at 1045 South Ocean Boulevard on Saturday, June 20, 2026. To accommodate this work, maintenance of traffic (MOT) measures will be in place from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. South Ocean Boulevard will be reduced to one lane of travel in the work area, and flagging personnel will be on-site to direct motorists safely through the zone. Each phase of the work is expected to take approximately one hour to complete. Motorists should expect brief delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time when traveling through the area. S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from S.R. 802/Lake Avenue to Ibis Way
Traffic Impacts:- Change in Traffic Pattern for the new Pedestrian Signal at the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course: The new pedestrian signal at the entrance/crosswalk for the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course, just south of Old S. Ocean Boulevard, is undergoing final inspections and will begin to flash yellow early this month prior to permanent activation. Please drive safely and proceed with caution as this new traffic pattern is implemented along S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard in the coming weeks.
- One lane of S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard may be closed with a flagging operation to direct traffic, daily, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and nightly, 8 p.m. until 7 a.m., Sunday night through Friday, through early Summer 2026, for sod installation, final striping and inspections. Please allow extra travel time as needed.
- In conjunction with daily and nightly lane closures on S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard, one lane of Lake Avenue just west of the S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard intersection may be closed in each direction as needed, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. until 7 a.m., Sunday night through Friday, through early Summer 2026, for sod installation, final striping, and inspections.
- A temporary pedestrian detour route will be utilized throughout the work zone for construction operations and sidewalk repairs as needed; please follow directional signage and proceed with caution.
- Lane closures may occur daily (8 a.m.–6 p.m.) and nightly (8 p.m.–7 a.m.), Sunday night through Friday, until June 2026, for grading, sod work, and final striping. Expect possible delays.
S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from Emerald Beach Way to S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way
Traffic Impacts:- One lane of S.R. A1A/S. County Road may be closed with a flagging operation to direct traffic, 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Summer 2026, for construction operations throughout the project corridor, including concrete work, median construction, and mast arm installation. Portions of the sidewalk may be temporarily closed, with pedestrian detours in place. Please allow extra travel time, follow all directional signage, and proceed with caution.
- Drilled Shaft Installation Ongoing for New Traffic Signal Mast Arms:
- Drilled shaft installation operations for new traffic signal mast arms are ongoing along S.R. A1A/S. County Road, with work anticipated at the southwest corner of Peruvian Avenue and the southwest corner of Worth Avenue.
- Construction operations, sidewalk replacement, and site restoration can also be expected at the northwest and southwest corners of Royal Palm Way, the southeast corner of the Town of Palm Beach Fire Station #1, the northeast corner of Peruvian Avenue, the northwest corner of Golfview Road, and the southeast corner of Hammon Avenue.
- In addition to daytime operations from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., work may be performed Sunday through Thursday nights, from approximately 12 a.m. until 8 a.m., with lane closures and a flagging operation to stage equipment.
- Portions of the sidewalk will be closed, with pedestrian detour routes utilized. Please follow all directional signage and proceed with caution.
West Palm Beach: S.R. 5/U.S. 1 Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project
This 1.044-mile project on S.R. 5/U.S. 1 from Belvedere Road to south of Okeechobee Boulevard in the city of West Palm Beach is scheduled to begin in May 2026. Traffic Impacts: Northbound and southbound S.R. 5/U.S.1 may have one lane closed intermittently from Belvedere Road to S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, for concrete work. Vehicles: The Palm Beach Police Department advises residents to lock vehicle doors, not to leave keys inside, and to remove valuables such as cash, wallets, purses, phones, and tablets before leaving their cars to deter theft.
Beware of Impersonators: The Palm Beach Police Department warns residents and visitors about individuals falsely claiming to represent the Town. These impostors may ask for personal or financial information or cash. Town employees always carry official ID and wear uniforms with Palm Beach insignia. Remember:
- Legitimate Town staff never ask for credit card info, banking details, or cash during normal interactions.
- Always request to see official Town identification if approached.
