The Town of Palm Beach advises residents and motorists of potential traffic impacts during scheduled work below. Please follow signage and directions, proceed cautiously, and allow extra travel time in the areas mentioned below. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation. Access to residents’ homes will be maintained at all times. Please follow the directions of the United States Secret Service (USSS) and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) personnel in the area.
  • Lane Closure April 30, 2026-Island Road: On Thursday, April 30, 2026, the Town of Palm Beach's Water Resource Division will perform maintenance on the wastewater system near 320 Island Road.
  • Potential Traffic Impacts-Clarendon Avenue at Vita Serena Road Closure: Starting May 1, 2026, through October 31, 2026, the west end of Clarendon Avenue at Vita Serena will be closed to all through traffic as the Town’s contractor makes improvements to both the Sanitary and Stormwater Pump Stations. During this time, Public Works asks residents and their staff/vendors to park on their own property, not on the roadway, to allow traffic to move freely up and down the roadway. Access to residents' homes will always be maintained. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation.
  • Potential Traffic Impacts-Undergrounding: Undergrounding work occurring throughout several project phases may result in intermittent lane closures, localized detours, and brief delays during the week of April 27, 2026. Residents and motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow extra travel time when traveling through affected areas. For more details on specific Undergrounding activities, please refer to the Traffic Impacts webpage.
  • Potential Traffic Impacts-Cocoanut Row Watermain: The installation of a new watermain along Cocoanut Row between Royal Poinciana Way and Pendleton is underway and will require a southbound lane closure, with a flagging operation in place to maintain traffic flow throughout the project.
    • For project-related concerns or to report excessive delays, please call (561) 838-5440, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, or direct traffic concerns to the Palm Beach Police Department at (561) 838-5454.

Daily and nightly lane closures may occur, with flagging operations directing traffic and intermittent pedestrian detours in place; motorists should allow extra travel time.
    • S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from Emerald Beach Way to S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way: This project includes milling and resurfacing, upgraded traffic signals, drainage improvements, improved sidewalk and lighting infrastructure, and updated pavement markings. FAA Flight Restrictions Update:
In October 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) instituted new year-round airspace restrictions prohibiting aircraft from operating within a one-nautical-mile radius of Mar-a-Lago, even when the President is not present. Because Mar-a-Lago sits at the east end of Palm Beach International Airport’s (PBIA) primary east-west runway, flights are being rerouted, and historically quieter neighborhoods may now see and hear more air traffic. The Town continues to coordinate closely with Palm Beach County, Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), and federal aviation partners to monitor operational impacts of the Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) associated with MaraLago, including participation in the County aviation meetings (CCAN). Recent Town Council discussions and activities have included:
  • Concerns regarding aircraft noise, flightpattern changes, and longterm impacts of the yearround 1mile FAA restriction around MaraLago.
  • Coordination with the County Attorney’s Office and City of West Palm Beach following their legal actions challenging the operational and environmental impacts associated with the TFR and Secret Servicerelated airspace changes.
  • Ongoing review of how these restrictions may affect public safety operations, the shoreline protection zone, and noise over residential areas.
Please visit the Current Issues drop-down section on the Town’s Government webpage for details on how to submit noise comments and contact information for federal-level representatives.
