The Town of Palm Beach is part of the Countywide Transportation Plan to establish a planning framework that provides a countywide vision for transportation and mobility that safely connects people to places and provides a multijurisdictional process. Please take the survey online before October 18, 2025, to provide your input.
Potential Traffic Impacts October 18-24, 2025
The Town of Palm Beach advises residents and motorists of potential traffic impacts during scheduled work from October 18 to October 24, 2025. Please follow signage and directions, proceed cautiously, and allow extra travel time in the areas mentioned below. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation. Access to residents’ homes will be maintained at all times. Please follow the directions of USSS and Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) personnel in the area.
The Town advises residents and motorists of recent Bath and Tennis Circle roadway changes. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has modified the traffic pattern, including updated yield designations and roadway markings within the circle. Drivers are urged to use caution and remain attentive to the new signage and yield designations while traveling through this area.
FDOT and the United States Secret Service (USSS) will install temporary traffic signals at the Bath and Tennis Circle. These signals will assist the USSS with pedestrian and vehicular traffic crossing Southern Boulevard to access the Mar-a-Lago property from the Bath and Tennis parking lot.

- West Palm Beach’s Green Market will take place. The Green Market hours are 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., with additional road impact times possible and will occur each Saturday through May 30, 2025.
- Beginning Monday, North County Road between Wills Road and Kawama Lane will be milled and paved.

Florida Department of Transportation Project Updates
S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from S.R. 802/Lake Avenue to Ibis Way
Description: This 2.074-mile project in the City of Lake Worth Beach and the Town of Palm Beach began Saturday, May 3, 2025. Improvements include milling and repaving the roadway, widening 2-feet to 5-feet in both directions to accommodate 5-foot designated bicycle lanes in each direction, upgrading pedestrian signals with new LED countdowns at the intersection of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard and S.R. 802/Lake Avenue, installing a new traffic signal mast arm at the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course and a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at Phipps Ocean Park, retrofitting and installing new decorative lighting at the intersection of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard and S.R. 802/Lake Avenue, the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course, and Phipps Ocean Park, upgrading curb ramps and replacing sections of the existing sidewalk, including replacing the asphalt sidewalk with concrete along the west side of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard, regrading swales for enhanced drainage capacity, and upgrading signage and pavement markings, including installing green bicycle markings at the intersection of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard and S.R. 802/Lake Avenue. Traffic Impacts:
- One lane of S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard may be closed with a flagging operation to direct traffic, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Fall 2025.
- One lane of S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard within 800-feet of S.R. 802/Lake Avenue may be closed with a flagging operation to direct traffic, 8 p.m. until 7 a.m., Monday through Friday through Fall 2025.
- Work on the west side pedestrian pathway is anticipated to be done in the southbound lane of S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard between Ibis Way and south of Lake Avenue through Fall 2025. A temporary pedestrian detour route will be utilized as needed; please follow directional signage and proceed with caution through the work zone.
- One westbound lane of Lake Avenue, just west of the S.R. A1A intersection, may be closed as needed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from Emerald Beach Way to S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way
Description: This 2.3-mile project in the Town of Palm Beach began on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Improvements include milling and repaving the roadway throughout the project limits, replacing traffic signals with decorative mast arms at Golfview Rd./Hammon Ave., Worth Ave., and Peruvian Ave., and with standard mast arms at the Town of Palm Beach Fire Station, and S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way, upgrading pedestrian signals with new LED countdowns at Golfview Rd./Hammon Ave., Worth Ave., Peruvian Ave., and S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way, installing drainage improvements just south of S.R.-80/Southern Blvd., just north of El Vedado Rd., and at S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way, upgrading roadway lighting throughout the project limits including decorative lighting at Worth Ave., Peruvian Ave., Chilean Ave., Australian Ave., and Brazilian Ave., upgrading curb ramps and replacing sections of the existing sidewalk, and upgrading signage and pavement markings, including shared bicycle marking or “sharrows.” For more information, please contact Community Outreach Specialist Meredith Cruz at (561) 589-9584 or mcruz@cruz-pr.com.Cost/Completion: $8.2 million/Late 2026

- One lane of S.R. A1A may be closed with a flagging operation to direct traffic, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Final paving and striping operations with a flagging operation can be expected on S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard from just north of the S.R. 80/Southern Boulevard traffic circle (by Mar-a-Lago) to S.R. A1A/S. County Road (just north of Clarendon Avenue), daily from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Friday, as needed through late November 2025. Please proceed with caution and allow extra travel time as needed.
- New Traffic Pattern at Traffic Circle by Mar-a-Lago: New asphalt pavement has been placed on S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard from just north of Emerald Beach Way to S. County Road, which includes the traffic circle at the intersection of S.R. 80/Southern Boulevard. The new striping meets the current traffic standards, as follows:
- Vehicles approaching the traffic circle are directed to yield
- Vehicles within the traffic circle have the Right-of-Way at all times
- Paving and striping operations with a flagging operation can be expected on S.R. A1A/S. County Road from S. Ocean Boulevard (just north of Clarendon Avenue) to north of Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, through late November 2025. Please proceed with caution and allow extra travel time as needed. Please note only one lane of S.R. A1A/S. County Road may be closed at a time.
- S.R. A1A/S. County Road northbound lane closure from Banyan Road to Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road: The northbound lane and sidewalk on S.R. A1A/S. County Road, from just north of Banyan Road to just south of Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road, may be closed around-the-clock for sidewalk replacement and construction activities through late November 2025. Please note that there is only one lane of S.R. A1A/S. County Road may be closed at a time.
- The southbound lane of S. County Road and all side streets will remain open with eastbound and westbound movements permitted on Jungle Road, El Vedado Road, El Brillo Way, El Bravo Way, Via Marina, and Gulfstream Road for local traffic. A flagging operation may direct traffic on side streets as needed.
- Local traffic traveling northbound on S.R. A1A/S. County Road will be detoured via eastbound Banyan Road, north on S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard, and west on Hammon Avenue to access northbound S.R. A1A/S. County Road.
- Sidewalk and pedestrian access will not be available from the intersection of S.R. A1A/S. County Road just north of Banyan Road to Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road during this time.
- Southbound S.R. A1A/S. County Road and all side streets will remain open within the work zone.
