Traffic Impacts and Updates for the Week of August 18

The Town of Palm Beach advises motorists of ongoing construction, paving, and undergrounding activities affecting SR A1A/South Ocean Boulevard, South County Road, and other local streets. Please allow extra travel time and exercise caution in work zones.

North County Road & North Ocean Boulevard:
There will be intermittent road and lane closures on North County Road and North Ocean Boulevard between Wells Road and Bahama Lane starting Friday, August 15, 2025, and ending Friday, August 22, 2025. Traffic will be detoured, and roads will be closed, except to local traffic while work is underway. Access to residents’ homes will be maintained at all times. SR A1A / South County Road Traffic Impacts:
Lane Closures: One lane may be closed at a time with flagging operations, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Summer 2025.
Northbound SR A1A/South County Road: Lane and sidewalk closures from South Ocean Boulevard (just north of Clarendon Avenue) to just south of Banyan Road may occur around-the-clock for sidewalk replacement and construction through August 2025.
  • Northbound traffic on South Ocean Boulevard cannot turn left/west onto SR A1A/S. County Road during closures.
  • Southbound lanes and all side streets remain open, with eastbound and westbound movements permitted on:
    • Via Vizcaya
    • Via Del Mar
    • Via La Selva
Flagging operations may be used to direct traffic on side streets as needed.

Paving Operations:
  • SR A1A/South Ocean Boulevard (near Mar-a-Lago to north of Clarendon Avenue) and SR A1A/South County Road (South Ocean Boulevard to north of Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road) may have flagging operations, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday–Friday through August 2025.
Detour Routes:
  • Northbound local traffic on South Ocean Boulevard will detour west on Banyan Road to access SR A1A/South County Road and side streets.
  • South Ocean Boulevard north of Banyan Road remains open for motorists to access marked east-west connections to SR A1A/South County Road.
  • Sidewalk and pedestrian access will be unavailable between SR A1A/South County Road and south of Banyan Road during construction.
  • Southbound SR A1A/South County Road and all side streets remain open; local traffic may use southbound SR A1A/South County Road to access northbound South Ocean Boulevard.
Undergrounding & Horizontal Directional Drilling:
  • PHASE 6 NORTH / PHASE 7 NORTH: Final punch list, residential conversions, and prep work – No Traffic Impacts
  • PHASE 3 SOUTH / PHASE 4 SOUTH / PHASE 5 SOUTH / PHASE 6 SOUTH: Most concrete curb work, conversions, and switching orders – No Traffic Impacts
  • PHASE 7 SOUTH:
    • Everglade Ave from Bradley Place to Intracoastal – Road Closed, Local Traffic Only
    • Bradley Place between Everglade Ave and Dunbar – Lane Closure, Traffic Maintained
    • North County Road between Wells Road and Atlantic Ave – Lane Closure, Traffic Maintained
    • Everglade Ave between Intracoastal and Bradley Place – Road Closed, Local Traffic Only
    • Canterbury Ln between North County Road & Ocean – Lane Closure, Traffic Maintained
  • PHASE 8:
    • North County Road from Everglade Ave south – Lane Closure, Traffic Maintained
    • Park Ave (Monday–Wednesday), Oleander (Thursday–Friday) – Lane Closures, Traffic Maintained
    • Bradley Place (Monday–Tuesday), Manhole tie-in on Bradley (Wednesday–Friday) – Lane Closures, Traffic Maintained
CLARKE ALLEY: Closed for alley reconstruction – Detour Implemented

Motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution, follow posted signs, and plan extra travel time.
