The Plus One ADU program, a state-funded initiative that helps eligible homeowners create an Accessory Dwelling Unit, or ADU, on their property. In partnership with the NYS Housing Trust Fund Corporation, Housing Action Council and select municipalities, Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County is coordinating the construction of accessory apartments on the properties of low- to moderate- income residents of Cortlandt, Croton- on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington and Yorktown. Also known as granny flats and accessory apartments, ADUs can include basement, attic or other interior apartments; garage conversions; small, stand-alone units on a single-family lot; or any other permitted unit type. The webinar, which takes place Tuesday, July 29, from 6-7 p.m., will feature a program overview, info about eligibility and the application process, examples of ADU types and a live Q&A with the Habitat for Humanity team.
