Dear Residents:
With summer in full swing and everyone enjoying the outdoors, I would like to remind everyone about the Village codes regarding sidewalk maintenance.
It is the responsibility of all homeowners or owners of any lot or piece of land to keep the sidewalk in front of or adjacent to their properties in good repair and in safe condition for public use. This includes keeping sidewalks unobstructed for pedestrians year-round.
Hedges around one’s property can be an attractive way to provide some level of privacy. However, when foliage grows over or onto the sidewalk it may impede safe access for pedestrians.
Walking is a mode of transportation that is highly valued in our community. Thank you for taking care to ensure that foliage does not grow over the sidewalk for the safety of all pedestrians in the Village.
