HASTINGS POLICE: PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF PEOPLE'S CAMPAIGN/POLITICAL SIGNS

Dear Residents,
The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department has received complaints regarding the theft/damage of campaign/political signs (This includes School Bond Signs). I would like to remind residents that campaign/political signs are considered personal property. Only the property owner or those authorized by the property owner may remove a sign if posted on private property.
If the sign is posted on public property, only village personnel in addition to the sign owner or representative may remove the sign.
Please be aware offenders who tamper or remove campaign/political signs may be charged with damage to property or theft.
Your cooperation in preventing this from occurring is greatly appreciated.
