HASTINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT: Blue Envelope Program

Dear Residents,
The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department has joined forces with numerous Westchester County Law Enforcement agencies to adopt the Blue Envelope Program.
The Blue Envelope Program enhances communication and understanding between law enforcement and individuals with autism and other disabilities during a traffic stop.
Participants will receive a "blue envelope" to store their driver's license, registration, and insurance card, and police officers will be trained to see and understand what the blue envelope signifies.
The blue envelope will also contain information for the driver and law enforcement officers to facilitate a calm and effective interaction.
