Are you interested in talking in a small group about your concerns and experiences with retirement? If you are interested in talking in a small group that would meet once a month to discuss these themes, email Barbara Dormont at: hohseniorcouncildiscussion@gmail.com. The group meets at the library. Please note that financial issues will not be discussed, as that is a different topic.
We have compiled a list of local people who do a variety of work in homes, from taking out air conditioners to doing home repairs. They have been recommended by Bill Feeney, owner of Hudson Line in Hastings. Bill designs and builds custom made furniture. He has worked with many people who repair, maintain, fix and build things in homes. This list includes people he has personally worked with and others that come highly recommended by his colleagues. We have contacted them, and all are willing to give a discount to Hastings’s seniors. If you are interested, please contact Senior Advocate Anne Russak, at 478-2380 Ext. 644 or e-mail: senioroutreach@hohny.gov
I also have a list of high school students who you can hire to do snow shoveling. If needed, I can give you some referrals.
