Chess Grades: K-4 Instructor: NSCF Chess
Learn to play the Royal Game!! This activity is open to all levels of play, from those who know nothing about the game to those who are experienced players. Learn how to move the different pieces and how to develop an opening, mid – game, and end game.
Crayola® Artist’s Passport Grades: K - 4 Instructor: Mad Science
Embark on an around-the-world cultural adventure − explore far-off places and learn about the people who live there, from the Americas to Polynesia, from the cosmopolitan to the countryside. Experiment with Crayola® products, while trying art techniques developed by local artists and artisans. Make different masterpieces each week such as drums, masks, canvases, prints, buses, and more! Bring unique creations home and build a globally inspired art gallery.
Creative Pages: Bringing Books to Life Grades: K – 2 Instructor: Forever Green Growing Mines
This class is a blend of learning, creativity, and fun—designed to ignite your child's love for reading and imagination! Young readers will journey through Roald Dahl’s beloved classic, James and the Giant Peach. Our teacher-led read-aloud sessions will bring the magic of the story to life, as students follow along with their own take-home copy of the book. Through arts and crafts, students will bring characters and scenes from the story to life by making puppets and a scenic backdrop. This hands-on project allows students to step inside the story and experience it in a new and exciting way. At the end of the course, students will take home their puppets and backdrop, giving them the opportunity to continue to engage with literature in a creative way enhancing reading comprehension and vocabulary. Hands-on projects encourage self-expression and artistic exploration making reading an immersive experience.
Critter Creations: Movement with Motors Grades: K – 2 Instructor: iCamp
Explore the wonders of motion in nature through hands-on projects that bring animals to life. In this engineering course, students will learn about different types of motion-spinning, rolling, zigzagging, and more. By building motorized creatures that mimic the movements of real animals. Each lesson combines creativity, engineering, and biology, allowing students to craft and decorate their own motor-powered animals while learning about the natural world. Each week, engineers and animal lovers alike will complete a new build. From the buzzing flight of bees to the slithering motion of snakes, students will discover how animals move, feed, and survive in nature.
Fun With Games Grades: K - 4 Instructor: Recreation Staff
Each week students will explore different games. Think back to all the fun you had as a child running around playing tag or playing board games with friends. Students will get to have fun while socializing with their peers.
Just Desserts Grades: K - 4 Instructor: Recreation Staff
Students will learn to make fun and exciting desserts that are easy to replicate at home. After preparing the fun treats they will get to sample their hard work.
Lift Off! The Science of Flight Grades: 3 – 4 Instructor: iCamp
Welcome to the soring world of flight and engineering. The wonders of aviation and the principles of engineering will surely thrill students whose favorite part of vacation is the flight there. In this course, students will embark on a journey through the history of flight, from the Wright brothers’ first plane to modern-day spacecraft. Hands-on activities, including building and testing paper airplanes, will provide a fun and interactive way for students to grasp fundamental engineering concepts, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. By the end of the course, these young aviation enthusiasts will soar with a newfound appreciation for the science and engineering behind the magic of flight.
Minecraft Club: Planet Earth Grades: 2 – 4 Instructor: iCAMP
Embark on an epic adventure across the globe in our Minecraft Club: Planet Earth Expedition. Using the immersive world of Minecraft Education Edition, students will journey through diverse biomes-from lush jungles to scorching deserts- and discover the incredible wonders of our planet. Imagine building eco-friendly treehouse villages in endangered forests or designing desert hotels that thrive in harsh conditions. As students explore, they’ll face real world environmental challenges threatening each unique ecosystem. Students will flex their creativity and put their problem-solving skills to the test as they collaborate with fellow explorers to design innovative, sustainable solutions.
Mystery Wednesdays Grades: K – 4 Instructor: Recreation Staff
Each week there will be a new mystery theme. Students will explore science, crafts, being creative and much more. No two classes will be the same and each class will be a surprise adventure.
Ready, Set, Let’s Play-Doh: Grades: K-2 Instructor: Recreation Staff
We’ll spend our classes getting creative together: Rolling, cutting, shaping, and learning about color mixing. We’ll craft imaginative play-doh creations such as: sports, food, animals, and holiday objects. And of course, take our play-doh home at the end of our last class.
Secret Agent Lab Grades: K - 4 Instructor: Mad Science
Step into the shoes of a detective and uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. You will probe the science of tracking as you stamp out scenarios and uncover codes in the session. Some of the weekly topics in this session include Crime Lab, Cracking the Case, The Science of Security, Agent Undercover, Sleuths of Science, Funky Forensics, Spy Academy, Junior Detectives, Discover Detection and Whodunit.
The Magician's Apprenticeship Grades 1 - 4 Instructor: Barbara Magic of Hocus Pocus Magic
Apprentice yourself to be a world-class magician! Learn the basics of magic including cards, coins, ropes and much more. The small group approach to instruction will ensure that you're on your way to magical fame. Includes all necessary tricks and props, which are yours to keep (retail value $300).

Students will enjoy doing fun crafts that will help welcome the Winter Season. Students will explore all that winter has to offer through fun crafts.
Yoga + Mindfulness for Kids: Grades: K - 4 Instructor: Mary-Ann Mastreani
We will move, breathe, play, sing, laugh, make art, and get still. Kids will learn age-appropriate ways to regulate, as well as harness their energy in an inclusive environment. Each class has a social and emotional learning component offering children the chance to not only stretch and strengthen their physical bodies but build compassion for others and learn to be a thoughtful, contributing member of their families and community.
