Heavy snow drifts can block exterior vents (furnace/ boiler/ dryer/ etc…) causing exhaust to back up into homes creating dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.  Identify the location of these vents and monitor them periodically to make sure they are clear.  Also remember these tips when using generators during power outages: generators should always be used outdoors and away from doors/ windows/ vents.  Make sure your carbon monoxide detectors are installed and working.  If alarms sound or symptoms arise (headaches/ dizziness/ nausea), get outside and call 911. Stay safe.
