The following is an important public safety message from the Upper Saddle River Police Department:
This is a friendly reminder to residents to clear the snow from around any fire hydrant located on your property. USR Borough Ordinance 122-17.2 requires that the owner or owners of any real property in the Borough upon which any fire hydrant is located shall maintain the area within a five-foot radius of the perimeter of any such fire hydrant free of snow. The removal of snow and/or ice shall be completed within 12 hours of daylight after the snow has formed or fallen on or around any hydrant. The foregoing requirements shall also be applicable to any owner or owners of any real property which adjoins a fire hydrant located in a right-of-way. Any person violating the provisions of Subsection D of this section shall be subject to such fines and penalties as provided in ยง 1-15 of the Borough Code, within the discretion of the Judge of the Municipal Court.
