The City of Waterville is issuing this statement to provide clarification regarding concerns raised about comments related to the possible relocation of the Purnell Wrigley Field. 

At this time, the Administration is not currently working on any plans to relocate Purnell Wrigley Field. I apologize for the media’s decision to focus on a single comment from the March 17th meeting, which has caused some confusion.

The City remains committed to collaborating with the AYCC and engaging with the field’s patrons and neighborhood members to maintain healthy relationships. It’s important to acknowledge that neither side achieved everything they desired—that’s the essence of compromise.

The City drafted the renewal memorandum of understanding for Purnell Wrigley Field in partnership with the AYCC. This memorandum aims to ensure appropriate accessibility while addressing concerns within the neighborhood.
